Easter

We had a great time celebrating the Resurrection of our Savior on Nehemiah's second Easter. On Saturday we went to an egg hunt at Woodstock Park and then over to cousin Eleanor, Tommy and Frances' house to color easter eggs. Nehemiah loved sucking on the eggs before they had dye on them and he did get blue fingers and a blue spot on his head.....(pictures coming soon).

On Sunday we went to cousin Asher and Phoebe's house after church. Asher and Nehemiah enjoyed playing with all the gifts they got from Meme and Papa. The bubbles were a hit. Phoebe enjoyed giving Nehemiah kisses, which he thought was a little weird, but he didn't mind.

Pocampo

Meet Pocampo and Pocampo #2 or Pocampo and Copampo as Travis calls them. This is Nehemiah's puppy dog(s) which he now can't sleep without. As you can see he has worn Pocampo in pretty well. When I first gave Nehemiah this to sleep with I found him sleeping while sucking on his ears. Now he loves sucking on the bow and also its tail. We realized a few weeks ago that we might be in big trouble if Pocampo was ever lost or ruined. He sometimes throws him overboard out of his crib and then cries and points at him down on the ground..... so we decided to invest into Pocampo #2. We were so happy when we found Toys R' Us sells them for $7.99. Nehemiah was also excited to see Pocampo in a box and even more excited to crawl around the house with one in each hand. Now he only is allowed one at a time in order to make sure one is always clean and ready to go on a moments notice. We were a little worried that he wouldn't like the second as much as the first, but this hasn't seemed to be a problem yet. Shhhhh...don't tell Nehemiah that they're not one in the same.

FYI: Pocampo was named after the Mexican cook on the movie Lonesome Dove.

Becoming Brave

For quite a few months now, Nehemiah has been deathly afraid of his Radio Flyer Red Rocket. It makes noises which is what I think may have been what scared him. If you got him anywhere near the rocket he would cry, scream and grab at you and cling on for dear life. We've had it sitting in the front room for a few weeks now and slowly, but surely he has become friends with the rocket. First, he would just come up and touch it, then, he started pushing it and making the buttons sound and now finally he has become brave enough to ride it. Isn't he cute on it! I'm sure Meme and Papa will be happy their money wasn't wasted on this gift.

Well, I made it through the last 22 months. I'm officially done with my master's degree! It was a lot of hard work, a lot of time away 1 weekend a month, but a lot of fun with fabulous new friends!
